Matthew graduated summa cum laude from Rider University with a BSBA in Accounting and continued on to earn an MBA concentrated in Finance. Upon graduating, Matthew began his professional career with the “Big 4” public accounting firm of KPMG, LLP. Working in the firm’s New York Financial Services audit practice, Matthew worked on various client engagements in the banking, investment, and leasing industries. Matthew was afforded Senior Associate (lead auditor) responsibilities very early in his career which included coordination of daytoday onsite engagement team operations, audit staff management, and maintenance of client and vendor relationships.

In late 2011, Matthew left KPMG as a Senior Associate to accept a position with Verus Claims Services, LLC to manage their accounting and internal audit functions. Working in this capacity, he has been responsible for Verus’ daily accounting operations, administering claims disbursements on behalf of clients, leading the company’s initiative for SSAE16 compliance through the implementation and coordination of a Service Organization Controls audit, and advising other functional areas on process improvement.

Matthew is a licensed CPA in the state of New Jersey and is an active member in both the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He partakes in a minimum of one hundred and twenty hours of continuing profession education every triennial period. Matthew also works as a participating adjunct faculty member with the Rider University accounting program, which is AACSB accredited. He teaches senior level auditing courses to both undergraduate and preMasters of Accountancy students and is the cofaculty advisor of the Rider University Accounting Society, which focuses on connecting academia with leading industry professionals.
