Judge Approves MDL 3044 Leadership Team for Exactech Orthopedic Products Litigation

by | Jan 23, 2023

On December 14, 2022, U.S. District Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis approved the leadership team in the multidistrict Exatech orthopedic litigation filed against Exactech, manufacturer of the Optetrak, Truliant and Connexion GXL knee replacement systems.  Plaintiffs allege that the ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene tibial insert included in the systems was prone to premature wear and that oxidation of the polyethylene used in the insert caused inflammatory responses after implant, often necessitating revision surgery.
